I'mma Jersey Bae Now!

Hear-ye, hear-ye! Have you heard the news? I’m a Jersey bae now! That’s right. You read correctly. I’m officially a resident of the humble neighborhood of Fort Lee, New Jersey!

My goal for my 20’s was to see as much of the world as I possibly could, and while there are still many places left to explore, I think it’s time for me to establish some solid roots and develop a clearer picture of what it is I want to do for the next chapter of my life.

Now that I’ve got 3 months left in my 20’s, it’s time to get serious about life’s goals and visualizing what it is I see myself doing long term. Now is the time to get after something I’ve always wanted to do, and now I finally have the self-confidence to pursue: being a storyteller.

This blog will document the transitional period of my life: from my waning 20’s, to my hopefully productive 30’s. The final sign-off for this period of my life will be the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. And while I’ll officially be 30 by then, it’ll mark the true end of an era.

This is my 3rd time round training for an Olympics and this time I’m approaching the whole thing differently. First thing’s first, a month-long training camp in Japan, in the lovely city of Miyama to be exact, for the whole month of September. This will mark the beginning of kick-starting my Olympic training and trying my damn hardest to get in as best shape I can for the road ahead.

It’s not going to be all rainbows and sunshine, a lot of this is going to be excruciatingly painful hard work, but I’m more than happy to share with everybody the journey, including all of highs and many of the lows.

Stay tuned! Next stop: Miyama City, Japan.
